Grand Rapids Civic Theater Adds Hairspray to 2010-2011 Season

Grand Rapids Civic Theater will flashback to the swingin’ 60s next June when they present the popular musical Hairspray. The Wiz was originally slated for the June 2011 slot, but a last minute release of the rights allowed Civic to secure the Broadway smash.

Following in the footsteps of 2008′s The Producers and 2009′s The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, this will be the third straight season Civic has landed a popular contemporary musical.

Performance dates are June 10-26, 2011. Check back to Spotlight on the Grand often for updates on auditions and more as information becomes available.

Civic Announces 2010-2011 Season

Grand Rapids Civic Theater has announced its 85th season at the opening of the currently running of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The season offers family and popular theater classics likely to bring in large audiences.
